The build on this 2015 Volkswagen GTI started with a phone call from the owner shortly after he purchased the car. This would be the owner's first true project car, and his vision was to create a daily drivable Golf that could lay out on air suspension and be a show-stopper at local events. The goal was not a track-focused performance machine, but rather a well balanced GTI that turned heads while still being very functional.

The core of the build is the Bag Riders Super Low air suspension system which we chose due to their high-quality components and construction, as well as their easy-to-use electronic control interface which allows the user to adjust ride height quickly from either an onboard remote or cell phone app. To complete the exterior aesthetics, we also installed a set of custom VMR 18" wheels wrapped in Vredestein tires.

Under the hood, this GTI is making a bit more horsepower thanks to an Integrated Engineering cold air intake system. We also custom fabricated an exhaust system that retro-fits an AWE SwitchPath valved muffler section from a Golf R, but adapted to the GTI frame and single-exit tip configuration that matches perfectly to the Maxton Design rear diffuser.

For the interior we were presented with the challenge of adding a subwoofer enclosure to the rear that would occupy the same very tight space as the Bag Riders components. To achieve this, we utilized a custom enclosure that mounts in the driver's side trunk cubby giving ample room for the suspension components and providing a very clean look in the rear of the GTI. We also installed a full VIOFO dash cam system featuring 4K front & rear cameras, as well as a telephoto front camera.
